Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 June 2026

Flux (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a festival companion platform. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect information when you use the Flux mobile app, admin portal or website at withflux.app.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When festival organisers create an account, we collect their name, email address and festival details. This information is used solely to manage their event within Flux.

Attendee app usage

When attendees use the Flux app, we collect pseudonymous usage data including which artists are favourited, which stages are visited and general engagement patterns. This data is keyed to a random identifier created on the device and is never connected to a name, email address or any other personal identity. No account or login is required to use the attendee app.

Location data

With permission, the Flux app collects precise location while you are at an event to show your position on the festival map and help you navigate the site. If you grant background access, the app also records which festival zones your device enters and leaves, including while your phone is locked. Zone visits are stored against the same random identifier described above and are used to build aggregated, anonymous crowd-flow insights for the event organiser. Location is never sold and the app remains fully functional if you decline location access.

Crash and performance data

The app sends crash reports and basic performance diagnostics (device model, OS version, stack traces) via Firebase Crashlytics so we can find and fix problems. These reports are not linked to your app identifier.

Push notification tokens

If an attendee enables push notifications, we store a device token provided by Apple or Google to deliver notifications. This token is not linked to any personal information.

Enquiry form data

When you submit an enquiry through our website, we collect the information you provide (name, email, festival details) to respond to your request.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the Flux platform for festival organisers and attendees
  • To deliver push notifications about schedule changes, safety alerts and event updates
  • To generate anonymous analytics for festival organisers (crowd flow, artist popularity, engagement trends)
  • To respond to enquiries and provide support
  • To improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymous usage patterns

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Anonymous, aggregated analytics are shared with festival organisers to help them improve their events. We may share data with the following categories of service providers:

  • Infrastructure: Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (website hosting)
  • Notifications: Apple Push Notification Service, Firebase Cloud Messaging
  • Crash reporting: Firebase Crashlytics (crash and performance diagnostics)
  • Maps: Mapbox (interactive venue maps)

4. Data Retention

Organiser account data is retained for the duration of the subscription. Pseudonymous attendee data, including favourites and zone visits, is retained for as long as it is needed to provide analytics to organisers, in particular year-over-year comparison for returning festivals. It is never connected to a personal identity at any point during that retention. Enquiry form data is retained for up to 12 months. Push notification tokens are automatically invalidated when the app is uninstalled.

5. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. Attendee app data is pseudonymous: it is keyed to a random identifier and we hold nothing that connects that identifier to you, so we cannot single out which records belong to an individual. Deleting the app removes the identifier from your device. Any data collected afterwards is keyed to a new one.

Festival organisers can request data export or account deletion by contacting us. We will respond to all valid requests within 30 days.

6. Cookies

The Flux website uses only essential cookies required for the platform to function. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. Vercel Speed Insights may collect anonymous performance data.

7. Children

Flux is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The attendee app collects no name, email address or contact details from any user.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or website. Continued use of Flux after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. Contact
